I do commission art work of your pet In pastel. Prices vary against size, time and material.
As a child, I have always sketch what I saw and what I mostly saw was animals, especially horses! I love drawing horses! My horse drawings became noticed at an early age of 8 by my classmates and I would get asked to draw their favorite animals. My love for art grew and for high school was accepted into NOCCA (New Orleans Center for Creative Arts). There I was molded to a well rounded artist with new experiences using different medias and surfaces with education on color theory, values, and techniques as well as art history. We would critique each other’s art work to find ways to improve and grow. It was such a wonderful experience and feel blessed to have gone to a high school where I got to do what I loved!
For college I went to Delgado community college and continued my art education. They had an excellent art program! I majored in commercial arts minoring in fine arts. There I learned nude figure drawing, cartooning, lettering, graphic design arts, photography and film developing. I graduated with an associate in commercial arts. After graduating I struggled to find what I wanted to do with art to make a decent amount of income.
I’ve always loved animals and wanted to be around them all the time and decided that I wanted to help them and went back to college to study veterinarian medicine. During my journey in becoming a doctor, I was fortunate with the opportunity to learn the art of dog grooming while getting experience as a veterinarian technician. Long story short, my career was set when art and the interaction with animals were combined in the form of a pet stylist. The rest is history! Today I am excited and trilled to have my art skills back in my life! Thanks to the Covid 19 lockdown, I had a need to express my love of my dogs that I took care of by painting them and sold my pieces to my beloved clients to get a small form of income to recoup the loss. The joy of painting has brought me back to peace mentally during these crazy times and I realized how much I love it and miss it. I am excited to start this new venture into my business to create more beautiful portraits of the small but beautiful part of the family, the dog!
I hope you enjoyed visiting this small part my life and history and I hope to capture your beloved family member in a artistic form to forever treasure in your homes. Dogs are very special to me and they will always have a place in my heart. I’ve been connected with them for so many years through my career that I feel like I can communicate with them. They have taught me so much about life to just enjoy the simple things..... LOVE. To have the ability to capture their personality through art is my gift to share with the world and It would be my honor to do yours.
“A dog will teach you unconditional love. If you can learn that, things won’t be that bad.”
